BEHIND THE LENS: Kris & Erik Capture Individuality and Self-Confidence in Motion
We caught up with the masters of lens', Kris + Erik, as they continue to push the threshold of kids fashion, bringing their stills to life-in-motion, collaborating with a non-profit to help America's youth and discover what traits they can capture when they throw on some fun music on set.
pP: Tell us what's new!
K+E: We got married! We opened a production studio to focus more on advertising and editorial work. We started offering motion photography and launched a new website. We are grateful to be collaborating with the great non-profit organization, Noah's Arc Foundation, empowering youth.
pP: We're loving the advancements of video, tell us more.
We're able to take what we do with still photography, capturing the essence of "beauty" from the inside-out, finding the models multi-dimensional, strong sense of individuality, self confidence and kindness - and put it in motion!
pP: What are some new brands inspiring you at the moment?
K+E: petitePARADE recently spotlighted how H&M is raising proceeds for the WWF to help endangered species through the sales of a new collaborative collection. We are inspired by the social impact our work has on peoples lives and our environment. The innovation of brands like DSQUARED2, Dolce & Gabbana, Karl Lagerfeld and DIESEL KID inspire us, too.
pP: Where do you see the future of kids fashion going?
K+E: We share the vision of petitePARADE to elevate youth fashion to the mainstream toward inclusion, diversity, gender equality and cultural appreciation.
pP: Tell us about Gaby in our featured video!
K+E: Gaby is a force to be reckoned with! She is represented by Wilhelmina in New York and Modelogic Midwest. She is a special talent and strong representative of Kris + Erik. She is kind, creative, serves her community, multi-lingual and proud of her hispanic heritage! She sings, dances, figure skates and is a star student. We worked with her on her first photoshoot and she's since graced the cover of La Petite Magazine and has been featured in Hooligans, too! Not to mention - she's in the current worldwide Versace campaign #NBD.
pP: Last words for aspiring talent?
K+E: How you treat others is a reflection of who you are. Be Yourself. Be Persistent. Be Patient! Enjoy the experience, it is a privilege to work in this industry. Be selective about your partnerships and seek quality over quantity.
pP: Well, until next time you two!
K+E: Ciao for now, petitePARADE!
