Yay to Class of 2019!

Create & Inspire

PART I – Proud to present the work of 14 talented designers who graduate from F.I.T. NYC and continue to inspire the Childrenswear industry. From romantic vibes to teach wear, Class of 2019 got something for everyone!

I have a habit of doodling, which sometimes leads to goofy scribbles on any paper that I have access to.  My most recent designs were inspired by a silly cat face I drew one day.
— Meagan Connelly
I like to find inspirations in my daily life or a culture that really impacts my personality. I want people to understand my designs easily and to wear in everyday life.
— Ian Lee
Throughout these different areas, for me design always comes back to one central element and that is color. I believe that while there can be so much darkness in the world, we should do our best to bring a little light, positivity and color to our lives.
— Sarita Sinha
My eyes are always following and hooked on lavishly embellished couture dresses from fashion runway shows. French costumes from 1700s and Rococo court dresses are my favorites and the major sources of my design inspiration.
— Yunjin Chae
I find my inspiration from Japanese traditional assassin called ‘Ninja’

— Yeong Ji Min
I found my inspiration from my son’s old vintage aircraft.
— Dana Im
For my garment, my inspiration comes from the concept swirl art found in abstract paintings such as Picasso’s Starry Night using the creative aspect of hand embroidery to create that whimsical effect.
