Season after season, petitePARADE Kids Fashion Week highlights the coolest looks for kids from toddlers to tweens. All of which are tied together by the same thing, hair! Right after our 9th edition, We sat down to chat with Lindsey Williams, the stylist responsible for the looks you saw at petitePARADE Kids Fashion Week.

pP: We're in full throttle fall-fashion mode; but first, how was your summer?

LW: This summer was a busy one, with a lot of great location shoots. My favorite kid’s photo shoot, hands down, was with Chris Colls for a stunning collage in Interview Magazine. We had adorable kids with their fashionable model moms in a "Mini-Me" story.

This season of petitePARADE was amazing! Of course, the fashion is always outstanding, but working at Spring Studios and having our very own hair studio was awesome. All the texture from curls to braids and so many waves! Lots of teasing in the marin+morgan show and an elegant/edge in each braided style for Olvi's - The day flew by!

pP: What hair trends are you feeling for the fashionable kids this holiday season?

LW: Right now I feel that the "undone" hair is probably the best way to describe my vibe for the season. Topknots that look like the parent was chasing the child around trying to tether their wild mane is an accepted look right now. Yay Moms!

For those who may have more time or have kiddos that love having their hair done take a crimper or small curling iron the night before and add texture. Let your kiddo sleep on it and in the morning bundle the hair into a high pony or imperfect twists. The texture will give bulk and ease when using clips, elastics and bobbypins. Another trick is braiding your mini's hair after a shower and letting it dry overnight.

pP: So what should parents do if they don't have time to do these style preparations, what is another quick way to achieve texture?

LW: I personally love using Kevin Murphy Powder.Puff in dry hair [thanks KM for supplying our awesome team at petitePARADE with your products!] Just spray or shake into the roots for lift and hold.

On wet hair, mist a light spray of KM's Body.Mass rough dry with a blow dryer or let the hair dry on its own; you can also touch up any do' the following morning before school with KM's Doo.Over! There's no pressure to create perfect hair this season. I chase kids around the studio some days and in those moments the best tumbled looks come out of it!

pP: What's your go-to product for the curly kids?

LW: KM Killer.Curls! The product is light weight yet creates a great hold and amplifies each curl, perfectly. It's a great product to apply and get out the door, quickly!

pP: Lastly, what's your go-to style for your awesome blonde locks?

LW: Since i'm usually the one running around, you can often find me rocking a messy, side braid - if i have a minute of extra time, it may even be a fishtail braid!
