Nurturing an impressive body of work that encompasses tele- vision and music, Sky Katz is one of Hollywood’s most talked about young talents. Sky stars as spunky neighbor Tess in Dis- ney Channel’s new series Raven’s Home, a spinoff of the iconic sitcom That’s So Raven.

Sky was previously a contestant on season 11 of America’s Got Talent, where she wowed the judges, audience members and home viewers with her impressive rapping skills and freestyle. In uenced by rap musicians from across all generations and styles, this twelve-year-old free spirit immediately caught national attention. Additional performances include: The Harry Connick Jr. Show, New York Knicks Halftime Show at Madison Square Garden, SXSW, New York Fashion Week’s Rookie USA Fashion Show, the Winter Film Awards, and McDonald’s Hous- ton Children’s Festival.

The Long Island, New York native is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Sky is the youngest of four children. In between lming and record- ing in the studio, she’s a talented basketball player who enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Hi Sky! Tell us a little bit about yourself

Hi! I’m 13 years old and from Long Island, NY. I’m currently splitting my time between NY and LA while I lm season 2 of Raven’s Home. I love to act, rap and play basketball. I also adore my 3 dogs and love to spend time with them.

What is it like being a part of Raven’s Home, the revival of such an iconic show, That’s So Raven?
We’re midway lming season 2 and I seriously still can’t believe it. I grew up watching That’s So Raven and today I’m on her spin-off. It really is a dream come true!

How do you decide what to wear to events and premieres?

My mom and I are always shopping online and in stores and when it’s time for an event we team up and put our ideas together.

Is your character’s style similar or different to your style?

Tess’ style is very often similar to my real life style. A few times I’ve gone in for a wardrobe tting and it is something I already own at home!

What is the worst fashion faux pas you think every girl should avoid?
Every girl should make sure her clothes t right. Even a great out t looks awful when it’s too big or too small.

How do you keep up and manage your social media ac- counts?
I’m 13, so social media is already a part of my life just like all kids my age. I manage my accounts because I love to Interact with my followers.

This issue is all about animals. What animal is your spirit animal?
My spirit animal is a puf n. They can swim, walk and y. And if I could, I would do all 3 every day!

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have 3 dogs and I live for them! Jose is a golden doodle, Annie is a miniature poodle and Angel is a Chi- weenie we recently adopted.

How do you think we can protect and save endangered species?
We need to all be kind to our environment. Even little changes can help - recycle, reuse things instead of re- placing them altogether, not littering, carpooling instead of taking separate cars - they all can help people and animals as well.

Are you working on anything that you can tell us about?

I’m in the studio whenever I can and I’ve got some awe- some new music coming out. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it!
