Mother's Day: Cross Country Picks

Wherever you're spending Mother's Day this year, we hope you, Ms. mom, (Ms. we can't get things done without you / Ms. chief idea executor / Ms. lunch packing master) this Mother's Day we can offer some suggestions on where to spend this lovely Sunday in May. We've put together some of our favorite spots in 5 cities around the U.S. where you can take a solo hour or 2 at the spa, dress the kids up and have brunch while over looking dolphins and the Miami skyline or horseback ride in the good ol' Pacific Northwest.

1. Brooklyn's most unique outdoor is definitely Dumbo, where in addition to what is quite possibly the best dessert places, restaurants and views of the NYC skyline - you have the cities only carousel.

2. Los Angeles can be quite tiresome after hours of traffic and heading from meeting to meeting. The Now immerses mom in the most tranquil atmosphere where massages, facials and other treatments, just start to make perfect sense.

3. Miami has more than just those aquamarine waters and white sandy beaches - restaurants with superb chefs are popping up around the magic city - the River Yacht Club is one of the best. Sit outside, drink champagne and watch as boats pull up via the Miami River - don't worry they have juice for your mini, too.

4. New Orleans: Jazz, check! Southern-style crawfish, double check! NOLA's home-grown wine backyard - we got you covered! Bacchanal's relaxing outdoor space will leave you asking for that second bottle of rosé while the kids munch on some tasty snacks, themselves.

5. Warm Springs is a nature filled park in Oregon. Just a couple hours outside Portland, the scenery of this land will take you and your kids back to a much simpler time - where horseback riding, biking, glamping and rafting are all in day's to do.
